Saar-Hunsrück Premium Hiking Region

The premium hiking regions certified by the German Hiking Institute are among the finest hiking destinations in Europe. This premium hiking region was named after the Saar-Hunsrück Climb, which stretches for 415 km between Perl/Schengen on the border with Luxembourg through the Hunsrück to Boppard and as far as the Roman city of Trier in the west.

The Hochwald holiday region lies right in the middle of the Saar-Hunsrück Premium Hiking Region with its 4 Traumschleifen or “dream loop” hiking trails and a roughly 15-kilometre long section of the Saar-Hunsrück Climb – Germany’s best-rated long-distance trail.
